Athletes in Fashion Shows

Off--White is very well known popular street clothing brand that has been on the rise for the last few years in Fashion. The clothing brand was started by a very talented Artist and Fashion Designer named Virgil Abloh. Virgil at one point in his career worked as a lead fashion designer for companies such as Louis Vuitton, and has made huge contributions to the fashion industry during his time of work. Back in 2018, Virgil released an amazing collection of clothing paying homage to Sports wear and street wear together. During this release he had many amazing sports athletes model during the show, including the track stars pictures above in the new designs by Virgil. As you can see, he took the artistic styling of everyday track clothing, and combined it with his street wear style. This is something not most can pull off and still have people camping outside of shops to purchase. How do you feel about this type of fashion trend? Would you wear these clothes out casually if you were a track star?

Covid hits Everywhere

Corona Virus has effected our entire world from across the globe and made many effects on our everyday lives. This doesn't exclude sports, or fashion either. People have had to adapt to wear masks and other gear to ensure the safety of themselves and others around them. Almost every sporting event has either been canceled or modified in some way to keep the players, fans, and other participants safe from the spread. But through all the sorrow, we still find some way to bring in the humor to keep every happy and not depressed during these times. This photo was taken by a bystander in Florida this past SuperBowl weekend, and the gentleman is wearing a custom NFL jersey with the number 19, and the name "COVID." This is a truly ingenious way of expressing a true funny twist on the sport, the situation, and the ability to make cool customer jerseys. A great idea, and even better execution. This post went viral and put a lot of smiles and laughs into people's days.  The p...

NBA supports BLM

2020 was a historic year for many reasons, but one in particular that stood out to me was the impressive uproar in the fight against discrimination and hatred of Black lives in our country. This fight for change showed many supporters include such big organizations like the NBA. After a beautiful idea of allowing athletes in soccer games to add special BLM messages to their uniforms, the chairmen of the NBA thought it would be best to implement this idea into his organization as well. He allowed for players to pick a message they supported and then present that message on their jerseys during the games they played. Not only did this show how much support for the cause the NBA and the players themselves had, but also helped spread the message to the fans as well. The jerseys are even up for sale on the NBA's official website, where the profits from the sales will directly be contributed to help support the BLM cause as well. The NBA is known for switching up the style of their uni...

Athletes want to share a Message too

Photo: Courtesy of More Than a Vote Many people admire star athletes who participate in their favorite sports. When it comes to supporting the athlete you can see people starting to dress like them and before you know it, a fashion trend begins.  The athletes  fashion choices are something we attach to in order to be more like them. In this photo from last September, LeBron James was seen wearing a hoodie with the message, "Change isn't made by watching from the sidelines." This is a statement LeBron wanted his fans to see, and to acknowledge ahead of the last election. It truly shows how many athletes can influence their fans with the clothing they wear and the messages they want to spread to the world, and how they do it. Have you ever been influenced by a fashion choice from one of your sports icons?
